For the illustrator version of my image I just went for a monotone palette. I'm not very skilled in the Illustrator tool so I just chose to do a 16-color live trace for the background and then a gray scale trace for the thought bubble. It kind of represents the dark reality of his dream because if you didn't know, beta fish are fresh water creatures and he would die in the ocean.
For the final project what I did was to create a thought bubble for Orlando (the fish in the tank). The reason he's in the hall is because he is hoping to live out his dream of being free in the ocean.
